How bout this weather?! LOL

Hello dear friends!  Thank you for all the wonderful, encouraging comments on my Penny America finish and my little sewing cases.  You just make me want to keep creating.  :o)

I think the title of this post says it all.  If you live anywhere in the US right now you know what I mean.  I am ever so thankful for air conditioning.  I do believe I will be making this pasta salad today - something cool and refreshing needs to be on my menu this week and from the looks of it this will make a good addition to my lunch for the rest of the week.

I just had to stitch another little patriotic piece before the 4th and I found the perfect one when I went to Salisbury a couple of weeks ago.  This was a freebie Robin was offering in her shop:

As you can see I took a little artistic license with the pattern.  :o)  "Flag City, USA" really didn't have any meaning for me so I substituted the city of my birthplace (it is also where my boys grew up and the birthplace of Duke University).  I decided to finish it as a hanging pocket.  I braided some twine with a dark blue ribbon for the hanger, trimmed it with Victorian Motto chenille, and filled it with some fabric stars.  :o)  The stars were made by fusing some fabric together, cutting the stars, and glueing them to bamboo skewers.

I am still in a patriotic mood and trying to resist starting yet another piece.  I don't have any idea how it happened but I currently have 4 WIP's and really shouldn't start something else right now.  It was only 2 years ago that I only worked on 1 piece at a time and I just don't know how I have ended up with 4 projects in the works.  Oh, and none of them are really close to completion either.  I don't know if I can resist...the Olympics are coming up and my American pride starts to boil over.....

I would like to wish all of my American friends a Happy 4th of July filled with fun, family, friends, and a stitch or two.  For my International friends I hope you have a fabulous week doing whatever your heart desires.  :o)  Thank you for your visits and lovely comments, I appreciate each and every one.
