Hello friends!  Whewie!  Is it evermore windy here in NC today.  I went outside to take a few pictures and it felt like the hair was going to blow right off of my pointy head.   This little guy looked like he was hanging on for dear life.  I just love how he is all hunkered down on the fence. I did a little finishing this morning.  Here is the 4th Lizzie Kate Halloween Rules ornament.  I was supposed to have all 12 of them finished by now.  You know what they say about the best laid plans doncha?  This will be the last one for this year as I am pretty much in full on Christmas stitching mode now.  I'll start back on them in January and hopefully finish them all in 2013.  (I heard you laughing!) Hello friends!  Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting up with Vera and her friend Leslie for some lunch and socializing.  Vera doesn't have a blog but I know many of you "know" her from her comments on your blogs.  Here she is preparing to enjoy lunch at David's Restaurant in Asheboro. After lunch, we wandered around downtown Asheboro for a bit of shopping, chatting, and just having fun. I introduced her to the mosquitos we have here in the South: And warned her of the dangers of runaway trains.  :o) Isn't this mural fabulous?!  The light is a real, working light on the side of the building. I don't know what it is about us stitchers but we always have to come together bearing gifts.  Vera gifted me with one of her fabulous knitted and felted wool bowls and this beautiful bird hook.  And I made for her this little pillow. Isn't this card from Norma fabulous!?  It just made my day to open the envelope and see these googly eyes. We have been enjoying a glorious fall weekend here in NC.  I love fall but I do not love seeing all those leaves swirling around and landing in my yard.  Sigh....there is lots of raking in my future. I did a bit of finishing for Chris recently and since her stitching is so dang pretty I just had to share them with you.  (She has already shared on her blog) A little pillow with chenille trim. A jar wrap.  I honestly don't know how Chris makes such tiny little perfect stitches.  My claws just can't do it.  And I just love the candy corn button she used on this one. A larger pillow with some cluny lace trim and a button.  I left this one open so Chris could stuff it.  I do believe this is one of my most favorite Halloween designs.  I stitched it last year and finished it as an ornament for my Halloween tree.
