Look ya'll!

"Valentine Sampler" With thy Needle   I'm stitching on 40 count!  And actually enjoying it!  Go me!  Okay, so I know this isn't a big deal for most of you but it is for me.  I have at least 3 projects in my abandoned project pile that I started on 40 count linen and just gave up.  I'll admit it took me about 30 minutes or so for my eyes to get accustomed to the small thread count but now...I am really having fun with it.  Who knows?  I may have to dig those other things out of the pile and give them another try. I had the random number thingy choose someone to receive one of my Valentine mug mats and that person is Mary at Stitches and More . I loved reading all your comments and appreciate your visits and encouragement.  I hope you are all enjoying a great start to the week.

Potato Chips

"Bittersweet" from Friendship Sampers - With Thy Needle     Stitching these little samplers is like eating potato chips...you can't stop with just one.  I finished up this one yesterday and made a start on the next one today.  My plan is to finish these all as little pillows and display them in a bowl.   I seem to be having a love affair with Brenda's designs right now.  I ordered her Valentine Sampler with all the trimmings.  I was a little nervous when I found out it is stitched on 40 count linen.  36 count is my limit when it comes to higher count linen but I am going to give it a go.  Any tips or tricks you have for working on 40 count would be greatly appreciated.   This week's mail brought a sweet surprise from Kim :     Isn't it fabulous?  It will surely make a wonderful addition to my Christmas tree this year.  She knows me well, doesn't she?  Thank you so much Kim, you made my day! Be sur...

Distracted

Hello friends! Thank you for all of your compliments on my latest finishes.  I do appreciate them. I certainly didn't intend to wait so long before announcing the winner of the Lizzie Kate pattern.  Without further ado....the winner is Sally !  Sally, I do hope you enjoy stitching this one as much as I did.  I started stitching a little Christmas piece but became distracted by this: "The Farmer's Wife" from Friendship Samplers by With Thy Needle 32 ct Khaki linen/DMC floss I am trying to determine if I want to "age" it a bit with coffee before I finish it.  I do think it looks nice as is but... I have also been distracted by these:   I bought these in anticipation of Brenda's next release .  I can hardly wait and I don't think I will have any trouble finding someone to help me eat the chocolates.  :o)

My New Year's Day Start

And finish!   "Glory House" Chessie and Me Linen and Silks as kitted   This tiny little over one bird nearly did me in!      And I framed it as well.  :o)   While I was in the framing mood I decided to finish up "Not all of us" as well.  I added a little rick rack and the homespun I auditioned:       I am not sure if I really like it. I think I will let it "age" for a day or two before I change anything. I left a large enough margin on the stitched portion so I can make it into something else if it doesn't "grow" on me as it is.   I would like to pass this pattern along if anyone is interested.  It would be the pattern only (there is also a pattern for a little pincushion included) no linen, buttons, or charm as I used those.  Just let me know in the comments if you would like to put your name in the hat and if there are several of you that want it, I will draw a name in a few days.   I have really enjoyed read...
