Hello Friends!  DH and I took a day trip to Salisbury today.  I wanted to visit Spring Robin and take Sergei along for framing.  I did a little research and found a few other things to do while we were there. Spring Robin Cross Stitch was wonderful and Robin was so nice and helpful.  Her prices on framing are very reasonable and she has lots of choices in moldings.   There was a wonderful mural across the street from her shop. Spring Robin also has a large selection of charts and supplies.  I managed to pick up just a few things to add to my stash.  :o) While we were there we took a driving tour of the Historic National Cemetery and the Confederate Prison site.  We also took a tour of the Dr. Josephus Hall House . It was really nice for the two of us to get out of town and do something together without feeling rushed to get back home.  I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful old city that is full of southern history....

Hello dear friends!  We are getting some much needed rain today and I have enjoyed being inside and puttering around the sewing machine.  Yesterday I attended a sampler guild meeting which I enjoyed immensely.  Chris is one of the founders of the group and gave  a fabulous presentation on "Carolina Girls".   She spoke at length about Southern Schoolgirl Samplers (or the lack therof) and presented some wonderful and enlightening visuals.  It really inspired me to do some more research on the history of needlework in my area and I am already looking forward to our next meeting.  Hopefully, they will allow me to become a full fledged member.  :o) I remembered to take a picture for the Totally Useless SAL this month: Now it's time to settle in for some stitching.  I hope you all enjoyed a great weekend and are looking forward to a fabulous week.  Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments!

Hello dear friends!  I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful spring weather.  The plants are growing, the birds are singing, I am upright, ...life is good.  :o) I was anxious to use the gorgeous chenille trim I won in Nancy's giveaway and as a bonus she sent along a skien of her matching floss.  I went digging through my charts and decided on this: "Emblem of Friendship" Cherished Stitches 32 ct Forest Linen/Victorian Motto Floss (color name unknown) You know I had to have a cardinal in there somewhere, didn't you?  I loved stitching this from start to finish.  The Victorian Motto floss was a joy to use, no knotting and very little twisting and the chenille trim was wonderful to work with.   I really want to stitch this one again using a light colored linen. I think my next stitch will be something summery.  :o)

The kindness of others in this blogging community continues to amaze me.  I am so delighted and honored to be a part of it. Last week my friend Norma surprised me with this little Easter postcard:  Norma is such a talented artist I am always thrilled to receive a piece of her work.  I failed to take a picture of the envelope but it was as pretty as the postcard. Then, this week I plucked this from my mailbox: Sweet Nataly  has sent me a RAK gift of her gorgeous counting pins.  Doesn't the little booklet make the most wonderful presentation for her pins?  I don't own any counting pins and know these will be used often and with a smile.  :o)   I had big plans for my garden on Saturday but with the rain it was a total washout.  Luckily I managed to get all the weeding done Friday evening before the rain began.  The plan was to haul a couple of loads of topsoil in and prepare them for planting.  I am hopin...
