Time just flies when you are having fun working your butt off, doesn't it.  It seems I have hardly had a spare minute in the past two weeks.  I am woefully behind in visiting your blogs and hope to get to those this weekend.  I just know you are all making pretty things and typing pretty words and I need some pretty before the new work week starts! My week started out with this: Yes!  We had a bit of snow.  I was a little bummed because it all happened at night and was gone by noon the next day.  I am still holding out hope for another 4-6 inch snow before spring officially arrives.  A new flock was hatched this week.  :o) My photography assistant was very helpful...not! I have managed just a tiny bit of stitching on my next Halloween Rule.  Not enough really for a photo yet but if all goes well I hope to remedy that tomorrow. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

I had quite a few scraps left over from my last thread catcher/bird making session.  Since I didn't want to let any of that lovely Blueberry Crumb Cake fabric go to waste I started cutting it into 2-1/2" squares.  A few hours sewing, some pretty trim and voila!  Three mug rugs.  I also had some squares left over from some mini charm packs Catherine gifted me and made this one too.  I must have been in a Blackbird Designs mood as these fabrics are from their Antique Fair line. Next up on the agenda....more birds! Hello dear friends!  The wind is really howling outside here in NC and we are about to have our first real winter temperatures of the season.  Our wind chill is supposed to be in the single digits tonight and in the morning.  Brrrr! I always try to stitch at least one small for every holiday/season.   For Valentine's Day I chose to stitch the Bonus Pin Pillow chart that is included with the "Not All Of Us" Inspiration Boxer by Lizzie Kate.  35 ct HDF Mystery Linen/Various Overdyed Floss from stash Pin Pillow finish with crushed walnut shells and gorgeous Victorian Motto trim (I am in love with Nancy's trims) I think this one would be suitable for Valentine's Day as well as a nice little spring piece to display. Yesterday I had to make yet another trip to the endodontist.  I awakened with a toothache and off to the dentist I went.  I arrived at the dentist at 11:30 am and did not get home until 3:30 pm.  What a way to spend a Friday!  So...

Hello friends and happy Monday to you!  We had quite the dreary, gray weekend here in NC but lunch on Saturday was a bright spot for me.  I met Chris and after a quick run through Hobby Lobby we had lunch and tried to catch up a little on what had been going on in our lives since we last met.  It seems Chris and I just can't get together without finding a reason to give each other a little gift and I was surprised and thrilled to receive this little beauty: Isn't it just the sweetest?  I am just amazed with Chris's tiny, perfect stitches and the lovely finishing.  I can't decide if I want it to be a fob for a pretty pair of scissors or an ornament for my fall/Halloween tree.  Hmmm, now why can't it be both?  In the spirit of giving and February the month of love and all things red, I would like to have a little giveaway for my regular visitors. Several days ago I mentioned I was going to try something a little different with my birds.  A trip to hobby lobby, some painting, staining, and waxing turned into these: And this: I am tickled with how they look.  I made these to look "aged" but have more ideas about some bright spring colored ones.  Stay tuned.   :o) I had a wonderful lunch with Chris  today and she gifted me with the sweetest little fob.  It was so grey and gloomy today I couldn't get a decent picture but I just have to share that with you tomorrow. I think it is about time for another giveaway.  Hmmm, lemme dig into my box of treasures and see what I might have to offer.

Whew!  What a week.  I haven't had time this week to visit your pretty blogs or do much of anything on the computer.  Work has been so tiring and my DH has been having some health issues but I do hope to get caught up on all your creativeness this weekend. My friend Norma  posted on her blog that she was making Valentine ornaments so she could have a Valentine tree.  I couldn't resist the urge to stitch her a little something and here is the result: This is the February portion of Sylvia's  My Little Heart SAL.  Norma has received it and already has it hanging on her little tree.  :o) I also managed to finish my Christmas ornament for February.
